Capacity building training for staff
On 2nd
July, 2013 Sakhya Women’s Guidance Cell organized a training session on sex
trafficking.
It main objective was to train the participants with
knowledge of rescue process who will aid in the rescue and restoration of sexual trafficking victims as the victims
need the people who are willing to take on challenges of witnessing their plight.
The resource persons were Mr. Mervyn and Mr.
Michael from International Justice and Mission who conducted the session.
The session started with devotion and prayer
led by Mr. Mervyn . A documentary movie entitled “Asha ki kran” based on the
girls trafficked for sexual exploitation was shown.
The resource person
through Power Point Presentation focused on the aspects of sex trafficking
which is happening everyday throughout the country. The resource person also
discussed few cases of how vulnerable were preyed upon and how they were helped
out by IJM team.
There was a question
and answer session which provided the participants an opportunity to ask
questions.
At the end of the
session feedback forms were distributed among the participants, they all filled
up and submitted to the representatives of IJM. Feedback from the participant
was positive and 99% participants evaluated that they got deep understanding on
sex trafficking and rescue process. 25% participants expressed their desire to
participate in the Prayer Community organized by IJM.
The session was a
huge awareness, educational and enlightening experience for staff as they
learnt so many about trafficking.
